First Year Coursework

In the 1st Year, late in the fall semester, into the winter break, and in the early spring, please take the Dissertation Proposal you submitted to the KU Law admissions office as part of your application and revise it into a full-blown outline.

Your classes should help inform you of ways to enhance your proposal, and turn it into an outline.

Further, please drop by and meet with your Chairperson once or twice during the semester, to discuss how you are progressing in your courses, and how you are thinking about turning your proposal into an outline.

By late spring next year, before the summer holidays, you should have a complete outline (as per the above) that your Chairperson approves. Then, you will be able to start writing your dissertation by next summer.
